Youth Diversion Project
Brú Youth Diversion Project is a special programme funded by the Irish Youth Justice Service and European Social Fund. Youth Justice Workers work with young people from Crumlin who have been, or are at risk of becoming involved in crime. The Youth Diversion team works with referred young people aged 12-17 years to provide supports and alternatives to criminal activity. The project employs trained youth justice workers who will work closely with young people and their families to co-design developmental interventions. Local Gardai may, at times work with the project to improve the relationships between Garda members and the community. The Juvenile Liaison officer is the most common way that young people are referred but community referrals are also accepted.
